TECH: How to save your new iPhone 6+ if it falls in the toilet [#waittotweet]
Whether you're waiting in line for Apple's new iPhone 6 or still rocking your Blackberry, this can be useful.
Or better yet, you could just wait to tweet.

#CIFF38: Silence your phones during the movie, and don't tweet from the bathroom.

That means "Lights, camera, action!" when it comes to some clean-water communication.
This is the third year we are sponsoring the CIFF, branding restrooms and stalls at Tower City Cinemas to help educate visitors in the form of a public service announcement.
#WaitToTweet made its debut at last year's CIFF and the message remains the same this year: We remind people that dropping a phone in the toilet is an all-too-common occurrence, and we suggest people think twice before tweeting from the stall. The message connects guests' everyday actions with the everyday work of wastewater treatment that rarely crosses minds.

EDUCATION: Bathroom signage to promote thinking twice about sustainability? They're not wastes of time, they're #StallTactics.
Statistics show we use the restroom about seven times every day. That means public restrooms get a lot of use, and based on the amount of wastewater we treat every day, we know that from experience.
In 2013, your Sewer District found some unique opportunities to educate and communicate in the very place where our business begins. Bathrooms.

NEWS: #WaitToTweet 'til you're toilet-trained? iPotty voted worst toy of 2013
![]() |

The votes are in: The worst of the worst toys of the year is the iPotty, an iPad holder built into your child's potty-training seat.
The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood annually presents one unlucky winner with the TODAY (Toys Oppressive and Destructive to Young Children) Award, and the voters' cases for the iPotty "winning" this year were definitive.
Whatever your opinions are about children and technology, technology in the bathrooms is a growing trend, but we never realized how far until seeing this. Either we should be aiming our #WaitToTweet message at a much younger demographic, or we better start working on our "Wally Waterdrop Saves the World" app.
What are your thoughts on worst or best toys of the year?

BREAKING! Sewer District is more cutting edge than major music awards show
Just caught this story over on Mashable about the CMT Music Awards generating social media buzz by using decals above urinals.
That's sooo yesterday.

Our #WaitToTweet decals at the Cleveland International Film Festival and Cleveland Indians' Progressive Field in stalls and above urinals and hand dryers have been generating tweets for months now (despite our incessant warnings against it).
Shout out to Progressive Field for looking out for fans. #waittotweet #baseballroadtrip twitter.com/jessilespie/st…

Still, nice to see we set a bit of a trend.

#WaitToTweet: Toilet-texting trends toward topical
We're always looking for creative ways to talk about the importance of clean water. So if we can talk about our business where people are doing theirs, sign us up.
That's what makes our #WaitToTweet campaign fun.
Our infographic and stats about cell-phone-users' toilet-texting trends was our way to educate customers about the flow of water beneath their seats. It's received a nod from The Plain Dealer, Cleveland Scene, and now the Alan Cox Show:
It's not the first time we've been on Alan's airwaves, and the common hook seems to be fecal bacteria. Go figure.
